A legislator from Arizona was caught on camera smuggling Bibles into the state Capitol.

Several Bibles were placed in the building's "free literature" section by state representative Shawnna Bolick.

The video gained popularity after being shared on social media.

The separation of religion and state, according to some, was broken.

Bolick apologized and said she didn't want to upset anyone.

Later on, the Bibles were taken out of the literary department.

Bolick was backed by several MPs on the grounds that she had a right to free speech and expression.

The event generated a discussion on religious liberty and the place of religion in public spaces
